During the visit of our guests from East Anglia, UK the Pongro Elementary School children performed a small exercise led by their Cambodian teachers.

Bishops from Laos Visited Sisophon

Bishop Prida, Bishop Khamsé, Bishop Tito Banchong and Bishop Louis-Marie Ling  from Lao PDR came to Cambodia last 21 November for a Bishop’s Meeting between the two countries. This annual meeting is held this year in Battambang.

The community welcomes the Bishops

The bishops arrived in Siem Reap at 10:00 in the morning and stopped by St. Francis Xavier Church in Sisophon for lunch. They were warmly welcomed by the catholic community, students, staff and volunteers.

Lunch with the Community

The Bishops shared that they believed there is still a lot of brokenness in both Cambodia and Lao PDR, but the situation in Cambodia is a little better because there is more freedom in practicing one’s faith here.  They left a message for the community: we should support each another through prayers and working together more and more.

The Bishops stayed in Cambodia until 25 November after visiting meeting, going around parishes and other selected activities with the Catholic communities.
